Since 1984, Scotscraig has repeatedly hosted the Final Open Qualifying when The Open is played over St Andrews. When the Open returned to St Andrews in 2010, Scotscraig once again hosted Final Open Qualifying. Balbirnie Park Golf Club is regarded as Fifeā€™s finest parkland.

For a family day out, there is the Scottish Deer Centre, Sea Life Centre and miles of award-winning sandy beaches and dunes at Tentsmuir Forest. The historic city of St Andrews can be reached within a 15-minute drive, making Blinkbonny ideal for guests visiting friends and family who are based at St Andrews University or attending one of the graduation ceremonies. A popular tourist location, St Andrews is packed with quality cafes, bars, restaurants and ice cream parlours, excellent shopping as well as a sandy beach, harbour and many historic buildings. Renowned worldwide as the Home of Golf and regularly playing host to the Open Championship, this area is a golferā€™s paradise. There is also the British Golf museum and family friendly courses to play on too.

    Nearby Falkland Palace and gardens are well worth a visit, one of Scotlandā€™s finest Renaissance palaces and steeped in history and folklore. Fans of the epic TV series ā€™Outlanderā€™ will recognise the location which was used as 1940ā€™s Inverness and there are many more locations used in the series to visit in the area.

    Within easy driving distance is Dundee, 15 miles, Perth, 15 miles and the vibrant capital city of Edinburgh, 48 miles. There are regular train services from Cupar station to Edinburgh which gets you there in just under an hour. Beach 18 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.
