Indeed only Prestwick, Prestwick St Nicholas and Troon are older than the club. Largs’ superb 18-hole parkland course has been rated as the best conditioned in the West of Scotland, nestling under Kelburn Castle’s wooded estate. The manicured greens are the envy of other clubs. Cochrane Castle Golf Club, located in the town of Johnstone, Strathclyde, is a mature parkland 18-hole course of length 6194 yards.
