Courses – Teignmouth – Warren – Stover – Torquay – Dainton Park

Teignmouth Golf Club is justifiably proud of its heritage. The course was designed by the legendary Dr Alister MacKenzie and opened in 1924, some 9 years before he completed his most famous work at the Augusta National, home of the US Masters. Teignmouth’s course is situated near to the South Devon coast and, at 800 feet above sea level, it commands spectacular views of the sea and nearby moors. The 18 hole moorland links presents a great test of golf for players of all abilities. Features include six varied and challenging par 3s and no fewer than 11 two-tier greens, a true MacKenzie trademark.

Sited on the Dawlish Warren National Nature Reseve, this is the only true links course on the south coast of Devon. The course is an 18 hole par 69/73 with beautiful views of the Exe Estuary to enjoy and the sea just over the sand dunes. Each hole provides a rare challenge for both the experienced golfer and newcomers to the beautiful game.

The peace and tranquility of Stover Golf Club, located on the edge of Newton Abbot, is a convenient treat for golfers in the south west, with easy access from the A38 and M5. The course is one of the best parkland courses in the south west. The beautiful parkland golf course features a wide variety of holes, elevation change, mature trees, streams and picturesque ponds.

Founded in 1909, Torquay has steadily evolved to present a first class parkland layout that offers a challenging yet rewarding test of golf in beautiful natural surroundings. Extensive views from the course encompass Lyme Bay in the east across the water to as far afield as Portland Bill, and to the rugged tors of Dartmoor to the west. The tree lined fairways and high quality greens present an interesting challenge on each hole. They offer a warm welcome to visitors and societies looking to test your skills; Torquay golf course provides a true test of golf for players of all abilities.

At 6,400yds off the competition tees, Dainton Park can cope with all manner of tournament golf. So much so, in 2016 it was selected by the Devon County Golf Union to host the Devon Amateur Championship, which saw the very best local golfers competing for the county’s most prestigious title. But off the yellow tees the golf course is much more manageable for the regular golfer. At 5,772yds it is still a test, but there are far fewer carries over water and rough ground compared to the elevated back tees.
