Courses: Churston – Wrangaton – Dainton Park

Established in 1890, Churston upholds the best traditions of golf and yet still meets the needs of members and visitors. Churston is a stunning parkland course with amazing coastal sea views over Torbay, Devon. Golf Club’s biggest asset is the course itself. Not only are the 18 holes laid out and presented in a fashion that is always pleasing on the eye, Mother Nature has ensured that the sub strata of shillet and shale are perfect for golf course drainage. This excellent drainage allows for play 365 days a year. The warm climate means the surfaces of the greens are in tip top condition twelve months of the year.

Wrangaton Golf Club was founded in 1895 on the southern slopes of Dartmoor in Devon. The course is a unique 18 hole course with 9 moorland holes and 9 parkland holes. It’s very much a course of two halves and there is nothing else like it in Devon!

At 6,400yds off the competition tees, Dainton Park can cope with all manner of tournament golf. So much so, in 2016 it was selected by the Devon County Golf Union to host the Devon Amateur Championship, which saw the very best local golfers competing for the county’s most prestigious title. But off the yellow tees the golf course is much more manageable for the regular golfer. At 5,772yds it is still a test, but there are far fewer carries over water and rough ground compared to the elevated back tees.
