Opened in 1992, Eden has matured into an extremely attractive golf course receiving great praise from visiting golfers for it’s immaculate condition, beautiful environment and above all it’s ability to test golfers without being unfair.
Brampton Golf Club was founded in 1909 and the course was originally designed by James Braid. Golf World has described Brampton Golf Club as ‘The Jewel of Cumbria’. Although not overly long, it is a good test of the full range of golf shots for beginners and low handicap players. The course measures 6418 yards (white), 6171 yards (yellow), par 72 for men and 5469 yards (red), par 74 for ladies and is a fair and enjoyable test for any level of golfer. The superb drainage makes play possible all year round golf.
Carlisle Golf Club is situated amongst mature trees in gently undulating parkland and is one of the most attractive courses in northern England. The course is Par 71 (73 for Ladies) with tree lined fairways and many memorable holes. Many regard Carlisle as one of, if not the finest inland course in the North of England. The course presents a tough challenge to the proficient golfer whilst not being fiendishly difficult for the higher handicappers. The status of the Course is augmented by a reputation for having magnificent greens and well manicured fairways.
Stony Holme Golf Course is an award winning 18 hole golf course located only 5 minutes from the centre of Carlisle. The course features no less than two rivers and is a great mixture of tight tree lined fairways and tricky shots over and around water. Stony Holme is known for its three rivers which have to be negotiated, the tight, tree-lined fairways and the water in play on 10 of the 18 holes.
