Course: Penrith – Appleby & Keswick

At Penrith Golf Club, the Lakeland fells provide a magnificent backdrop to this par 69 (Mens) par 72 (Ladies) golf course formed in 1890. Located adjacent to the historic market town of Penrith, once the home of King Richard III, this lovely course offers a worthy challenge to any golfer. It also affords the welcome bonus of some of the finest views of the Lake District, including iconic mountains such as Blencathra and Helvellyn,

Appleby Golf Club can only be described as an ‘Inland Links’ course, The Open Champion, Willie Fernie used the contours of the land and the heather and bracken features to create the course to great effect. Sitting on a bedrock of Sandstone, Appleby is free draining so is playable all year round. The greens are renowned for offering the best throughout the year.

Keswick’s 18 hole course offers a delightful and varied experience for golfers of all abilities. Measuring just over 6200 yards off the Championship tees, the par of 71 confirms that a round of great character awaits. The inspired use of the natural features of the landscape, tree-lined fairways and well-located greens, combine to provide an unforgettable round of golf.
