The Laburnums really has been furnished to an excellent standard, and sits in the quiet, charming Cumbrian village of Askham, with Ullswater just a short drive away. The semi-detached house has been thoughtfully designed, from the large welcoming entrance hall with original 19th century staircase, to the cosy living room with wood burner, and large open plan kitchen/dining room no expense has been spared to provide a luxury retreat to escape and enjoy your holiday in. The large, private, south-facing enclosed garden, with patio and barbecue area makes the ideal spot to gather with the family to enjoy an al fresco supper as the sun sets. The attractive village of Askham is centred around two village greens and has a well-stocked shop/off licence which is open seven days a week and two pubs, all within walking distance of the property. In the summer families can enjoy the outdoor heated swimming pool in the village. Not only does it have a 20 metre pool staffed by lifeguards but there is also a paddling pool, refreshments kiosk and picnicking area. This location offers easy access to the Lake District through Ullswater and Haweswater, or for the more adventurous to walk on the Helton Fells, enjoy water sports on Ullswater, or explore the beautiful Eden Valley. Ullswater can be reached by foot, 3 miles over the fells, and once there you can enjoy a scenic walk around the lake or take a trip on one of the cruisers which set sale from Glenridding and Pooley Bridge. There is also Lowther Birds of Prey Centre and Lowther Castle and Gardens, just a few minutes drive from the house. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
