    Opened in 1998, Wolfedale golf course (home of Charminster Golf Club) was and is a much needed basic 18 hole course situated just two miles north of Dorchester. On a chalky based subsoil, it never gets over-wet even in the wettest winters, and can truly be an all year course. Tucked away among the beautiful, scenic countryside that Dorset has become famous for, Wolfedale Golf Course is a sight to behold. Offering 18 challenging but rewarding holes, a fully licensed bar and a well-equipped shop, there is plenty on offer at Wolfedale Golf Club.

    Came Down Golf Club was founded in 1896, and shows off an excellent challenge, suitable for golfers at all levels. The course sits on chalk downland and offers fantastic views to locations such as Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester, Isle of Wight and Maiden Castle. Came Down is in very illustrious company with its links to Colt. Colt’s designs include three of The Open venues – Royal Liverpool, Muirfield, and Royal Portrush as well as Sunningdale, Woodhall Spa and Hoylake. Colt also designed the famous Pine Valley in the USA, recognised as one of the greatest courses anywhere in the world.

    Founded in 1909 Weymouth Golf Club is a James Braid designed course and epitomises his early philosophy around shot strategies and includes many of his subtle doglegs. A feature of this beautiful course, bound to strike the golfing visitor, is its situation. Set in the centre of Weymouth yet enjoying magnificent views of the Dorset countryside and Jurassic Coast. This 18 hole parkland course designed by James Braid and opened in 1909. The course captures the architect’s personal sentiments with subtle dog-legs both left and right. It has been awarded a regional Silver certificate by H.S.B.C. and presented by Golf Monthly as one of the friendliest private members clubs in the south.

Here you can enjoy elevated views across over the RSPB nature reserve and glimpses of the coast. The beach is just a 13-minute walk from the property, via the nature reserve, and here you can enjoy the sun or simply pick your favourite ice cream and sit and watch the world go buy in the café. Weymouth itself is sure to appeal to your whole group with plenty to do and see during your stay. There are bustling shops to explore, pubs and restaurants to pick from and if you are a water sports enthusiast, the ocean is your playground with the option of paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing and windsurfing.
