Courses: Haverhill – Safron Walden – Bishop’s Stortford & The Gog Magog

Haverhill Golf Club is a welcoming members’ club located in the tranquil Suffolk countryside. This 18 hole course is set in attractive mature parkland bisected by the River Stour. With strategically placed hazards the course provides a great challenge for golfers of all abilities. Playing the course is a unique test for any golfer, including the excellent putting surfaces which are widely renowned for being some of the best greens in the country. The course is not long by today’s standards, but to score well the emphasis is on accuracy and good course management.

Saffron Walden Golf Club is home to one of the finest parkland golf courses in East Anglia. Set in the picturesque surroundings of Audley End’s famous mansion, the Club also boasts superb views over the town of Saffron Walden.

Bishop’s Stortford’s attractive 18-hole parkland course has a quality that only time and maturity can provide and the par 71 offers a challenging, but fair test for all abilities of player. Its design was influenced by renowned golf course architect and five times Open champion, James Braid, who actually played at Stortford’s opening match in June 1910.Today, the mildly undulating course is enhanced by a large variety of trees and flowering shrubs and is meticulously maintained all year round.

Built on free draining chalk downland and situated just 3 miles south east of the historic centre of Cambridge, the Gog Magog Golf Club has two stunning and very different courses. The Old Course, opened in 1901, has all the character you would expect from a course with so much history. It has great variety, great views and is a great test for all abilities. The Wandlebury Course, opened in 1997, is now well established and has already hosted Regional Qualifying for The Open for 5 years. Longer than the Old Course and with USGA specification greens, it also has great vistas.
