Designed originally by Tom Morris with later alterations to the course made by J H Taylor and James Braid, the current design at Royal Cromer has been constructed out of sandy hills covered with gorse and bracken and laced with grassy valleys, it is a tidy well kept Golf Course. It is also regarded as one of Norfolk’s finest courses.
Sheringham Golf Club was formed in 1891 as a nine hole course, which was extended in 1898 to a full eighteen holes. The course is laid out on the west side of the town on a strip of rolling, gorse-clad clifftop that lies between the preserved North Norfolk Railway and the North Sea. Consistently ranked in the top 100 courses in England and the top 200 in the British Isles, the course offers a fair test of golf with outstanding views over the coastline and sea.
The Links GC is one of the oldest and most respected courses in Cambridgeshire and the venue for many County and Regional events. This Hotchkin designed 18-hole parkland course enjoys stunning views of the famous Newmarket Racecourses and gallops. The course sits on flat, free-draining terrain making it playable all year.

The town is also home to Sheringham Park, 1000 acres of landscaped parkland and gardens with breathtaking coastal walks, The North Norfolk Railway, with steam train trips along the coast, and two museums, including the quaint Peter Coke Shell Gallery. Those tempted to venture further afield can head east or west to find a string of pretty coastal towns and villages including Cromer, with its famous pier and cinema, and Wells-next-the-Sea with its much photographed quay.
You will also find The Thursford Collection with its famous Christmas Spectacular and Santa’s Magical Journey, Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre, Amazona Zoo and The Muckleburgh Military Collection close by. In fact, you will be spoilt for choice as this part of the coast offers something for all ages and all tastes, including lots of walks, cycle routes and bird watching.
