Courses: Minehead & West Somerset – Tiverton – Enmore Park

Minehead and West Somerset boasts an 18-hole, 6264 yards, par 72 course and displays the best characteristics of links play with some parkland features. It has excellent greens, it is a delight to play all-year round and is suitable for golfers at all levels of experience. You will be inspired by beautiful views, challenged by great golfing conditions and invigorated with the wonderful sea air and exercise.

Tiverton’s stunning 18 hole course was originally designed by famous course architect James Braid whose other designs include Gleneagles, Carnoustie and St Enodoc. Regarded as one of Devon’s finest parkland courses, t he t ree-lined fairways demand accuracy from the tee  whilst the smooth  greens reward the skilled putter. Golfers are eased into their round with a relatively straightforward 500 yard par 5, whilst the par 3 4th hole always offers the chance of a “two” at just 118 yards. A tough middle section of holes 6-11 often makes or breaks a round at Tiverton,  but birdies are possible on the closing few holes. The course offers panoramic views of the Devon countryside from several spots, with the 3rd hole running alongside the Grand Western Canal. Getting out on to the course is never a problem with both the 1st and 10th tees easily accessible from the Clubhouse.

Enmore is a parkland course near Bridgwater in Somerset which, from its highest points, offers extensive views over nearby hills and across the Bristol Channel to Wales. Two loops of nine start and finish at the clubhouse. At par 71 on 6,454 yards for men and 5,683 yards par 73 for ladies, the course offers a challenging test to all standards of golfer and is immensely entertaining. To add charm to the beautiful panorama, a delightful brook with three accompanying ponds is in play on five of the holes and, as a group, Enmore provides four of the most testing par 3’s. The long par 4 uphill 10th, which is well over 400 yards in length and requires the most accurate of drives to avoid finding the trees, is one of the most daunting holes in the West Country.
